It combines multiple internet connections on your device — Wi-Fi, cellular, USB-Ethernet, and optionally a nearby friend's connection — into one faster, more resilient link using Multipath QUIC and network coding, instead of a traditional single-path VPN tunnel.

It uses a local VPN interface on your device (required by Android/iOS to capture all app traffic), but functionally it is a bonding service, not a privacy VPN. Your traffic is still routed to the open internet through our Fusion edge servers, encrypted end-to-end via QUIC/TLS 1.3.

Instead of retransmitting a lost packet (which adds latency), we send linear combinations of your data across all your paths. If one packet is lost, we can reconstruct it instantly from any other combination that arrives — no round-trip needed.

A Pro feature where a nearby friend (also running the free app) can voluntarily lend you a bit of their bandwidth as an extra path, coordinated directly between your devices over WebRTC — no data passes through our servers.

No — Wi-Fi + cellular bonding works out of the box on both platforms. For a second simultaneous Wi-Fi network, Android can use a USB-OTG adapter; iOS requires our optional Pocket Router accessory since Apple does not allow two simultaneous Wi-Fi associations.

Bonding pauses and your device falls back to whichever single connection your OS would normally use — you're never cut off from the internet, you just lose the speed boost until the next billing cycle or until you upgrade.

Yes, Pro plans include a self-hosting script for the Go-based Fusion edge proxy if you'd rather run your own bonding endpoint instead of our shared infrastructure.
