Privacy Policy

This describes what Scaler Browser and wifiscaler.com actually collect, in plain language. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer — have it reviewed before relying on it for a commercial launch, and adapt it if you add features that change what's collected.

What we collect

• Account info: email, name (optional), and a hashed password (we never store your plaintext password) when you register.
• Browsing history: only if you turn on "Sync browsing history to my account" in Settings — off by default is not the case today (it defaults on so the account-history feature has data to show), but it's a real, visible toggle you can turn off at any time, and private/incognito tabs are never synced regardless of this setting.
• Settings: your app preferences (theme, search engine, ad blocker state, etc.) so they follow you across devices.
• Ad interaction: if you're on the Free tier, we log when an ad is shown to you and when you tap one, to measure ad performance for advertisers — see Advertise. Pro-tier accounts are never shown ads and generate no ad-interaction data.
• Basic usage: data volume associated with downloads, for account status display purposes.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your browsing history or account data to third parties.
• We don't attempt to bypass DRM/content protection, and we don't collect or store decryption keys of any kind.
• Payment card details are never seen or stored by us — subscription billing is handled entirely by Stripe's own hosted Checkout page.

Your controls

You can turn off history sync, clear your local browsing data, and manage or delete your account from your account dashboard. Deleting your account removes your stored history, settings, and profile information from our database.

Third-party AI providers

The Pro-tier AI Copilot sends your question and the relevant page's text to either DeepSeek or ChatGPT (OpenAI) — whichever you select in Settings — to generate a response. That request is subject to the selected provider's own privacy practices for API usage.

Data retention

We retain account and history data for as long as your account is active, or until you request deletion.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; continued use of Scaler Browser after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
